Major
changes to the WFO Constitution
The World Foundrymen Organization will soon
be called the World Foundry Organization, an organisation based in the UK having the status of a not for profit company. The
organisation officially overseen by the BDG, Germany, and contralled by the 14 international representatives of the Executive,
will continue to operate from the UK but with a new address, overseen by the General Secretary Andrew Turner. In addition the meeting fully approved the change of duration of Presidency of the WFO to a 2 year period,
Mr Don Huizenga, of the USA will be the first Two year President and takes office in January 2010, he will be ably supported
by his Vice President Xabier Gonzales Aspiri of Spain who will become President in 2012.
The
World Foundry Organization will be the new name with effect from 1st January 2010, just ten years after the name was changed
from CIATF to The World Foundrymen Organization, it is being done to coincide with the change of status to a not for profit
company based in the UK. The changes will not materially affect the operation of the organization but will give the General
Secretary and Executive more flexibility in the day to day operation whilst mitigating the costs of the new commercial activities. The WFO will continue to be managed by the Executive board in conjunction with the General secretary, but
will have 2 registered directors acting on their behalf, Mr Colin Steed and Mr Per Rolf Roland.
